A piece highlighting results from a Lean Six Sigma study performed on the Stand Alone Mail Prep area for the Flats Sequencing System. Confused? Basically, USPS researched ways to improve and reduce prep time on bundles of magazines and catalogs before being sorted by automated machines. This video showcases those results by featuring an interview with a Plant Manager and footage of the mail preparation. I spent a day at a processing facility in Dulles, VA shooting the interview and broll. Shooting with the HVX-200, I experimented with long focal lengths and tried to always keep the camera moving in the broll to add some dynamic flare. The graphics package was based on engineering blueprint schematics. A special shoutout goes to Andrew Kramer over a Video Co-Pilot and his tutorial on scribble text…thanks Andrew!
