Written by fellow USPS Producer Matt Zappile, this spec spot is designed for ages 18-35. Matt and I wanted to do something that was very bright, young, and different from previous USPS spots. Promoting the Priority Mail Large Flat-Rate box, Matt and I developed the idea of a college student calling her mother to send a bunch of items she forgot when she left for school. I chose a type-in-motion aesthetic as a base and threw in several graphical elements to spice it up. I was really specific in how I saw this spot, carefully choosing Chalet Book because it was corporate, yet had a feminine feel. Hopefully, the spot will be used for digital signage in the future, but for now it’s just a good demo reel piece…I won’t go into the details as to why.
