Flanders Scientific 2450W Broadcast LCD

A few days ago, I had a personal demonstration of the 2450W 24″ Broadcast LCD monitor from Flanders Scientific. I’ve been looking to get a new broadcast display to replace my aging 8″ Sony CRT. I read a few reviews and some Creative Cow forum posts about this display and saw it was getting rave reviews. Shane Ross over at Little Frog in HD also gave the 17″ model his blessing so I knew it must be for real. I arranged for a demo and Dan Desmet himself came from Georgia to demo the monitor in my edit suite using my own footage. Well…let me just say that the display is incredible. It’s a CRT replacement for sure. The blacks are the most true I’ve ever seen on a LCD and its viewing angle is close to 180 degrees with no color distortion. It’s user friendly, has customizable user inputs, a simple interface, and will even display 2K on this 1920×1080 display. I was truly impressed by the personal investment and devotion the team at Flanders has put into this monitor. I plan to use it to do advanced color grading and for refining and better controlling the color in my motion graphics work. I’ll definitely be picking one of these babies up once I save up some cash. Definitely check it out over at www.flandersscientific.com.
